For the last four years, I have been employed by the Resource and Environmental Management Program (REMP) at Ithaca College. REMP is a division of Facilities Services and is responsible for creating a more sustainable living and learning experience for the campus community. REMP formed in 2001 and since then has been responsible for educating the College Community about how to preserve the environment, implementing new programs through a variety of avenues to encourage resource management, recycling and conservation, and managing Ithaca College's waste-stream in a cost-effective and environmentally-responsible manner.

Resource and Environmental Management Program (REMP)

I began at REMP as an eco-representative for my freshman year dorm.  I was constantly collaborating with other eco-representatives on compost-recycling-trash (CRT) monitoring, maintaining the 'Take It Or Leave It' (in the photo below) and 'Oscar' rooms, and collection of water, energy, and waste statistics.

Today, I currently hold the position of sustainability project assistant, which I have held since the summer of 2012. I am responsible for writing educational materials designed to promote and educate about sustainability initiatives, coordinating current eco-representatives in various projects, and planning sustainability-related events on campus. My most recent accomplishment was planning the 2013 Recyclemania competition for the school- an important recycling competition among schools in North America and Canada.
